The Oklahoma Tennis Foundation awards 7 different scholarships. 5 college scholarships: the Curtis Richmond Scholarship, the Wayne Hirst Scholarship, the Janet Thomas Griffith Scholarship, the Steve Henry Scholarship, and the Judge Mike McSpadden Scholarship. 2 scholarships are for juniors: the Francis and Jean Baxter Scholarship and the Braver Family High Performance Scholarship.

Curtis Richmond Scholarship
The Oklahoma Tennis Foundation awards a $2,500 college scholarship to a high school senior who will be entering college and participated in high school varsity tennis during the 2022-2023 school year. The scholarship is intended to assist with tuition and is NEED-BASED.

Wayne Hirst Scholarship
The Oklahoma Tennis Foundation awards a $2,500 college scholarship to a high school senior who will be entering college and who has participated in high school varsity tennis during the 2022-2023 school year. The scholarship is intended to assist with tuition and is NEED-BASED.

Steve Henry Endowed Scholarship

Francis & Jean Baxter Scholarship
The Francis & Jean Baxter High-Performance Scholarships are designed to provide need-based player scholarships that will benefit junior players who are beginning to play competitive tennis, exhibit potential, dedication, and outstanding sportsmanship. This will include tournament/travel expenses. Applicants must be residents of the State of Oklahoma.

Lifelong friend and colleague of the Baxters, Bill Rompf, initiated and seeded the construction of a bronze statue of Coach Francis Baxter as well as this scholarship describing Baxter as “the person who has done more for Oklahoma tennis for the last 50 years than any other individual. Francis and Jean Baxter are Oklahoma tennis legends and heroes.”
The statue of Baxter will be dedicated on May 1, 2021 and permanently placed at the new Edmond Center Court.
The Janet Thomas Griffith Scholarship
The Oklahoma Tennis Foundation awards a $2,500.00 scholarship to a female Oklahoma resident tennis player who is committed to playing collegiate tennis. The recipient will receive a one-time $2,500.00 scholarship to be paid to the Bursar’s Office once the recipient is enrolled, and the collegiate tennis coach confirms the OKTF recipient will be an active part of the tennis team.
Applicants must be Oklahoma high school seniors or Oklahoma residents who are currently playing collegiate tennis. Recipients may play collegiate tennis out of state. The scholarship is not need-based.

Braver Family High Performance Scholarship
The Braver Family High Performance Scholarship is awarded to an Oklahoma boy or girl who has proven themselves in the USTA and Missouri Valley section and has the potential to achieve success on a national level.
This scholarship is need-based and will provide funding for tournament travel/expenses for a junior player who lacks financial means to reach their potential on a national level. Funding will be based on aspiration, character, citizenship, academic achievement, sportsmanship, dedication, and desire.
